After a long break, Pola Hadjipapa presents new artwork with her exhibition Explorations (Exerevnisis) which will take place at Apocalypse Gallery in Nicosia this May. The title of the exhibition touches on the philosophy that the artist’s pieces convey.
As a runner and an avid walker, Pola spends a lot of time exploring nature and the feelings that arise from it. The pieces in this exhibition stem from the endless hours she spends in nature. Explorations opens on May 17 at the Nicosia gallery at 7.30pm and will remain open until June 3.
“Everything is a journey,” writes the artist about her work. “And through it come explorations and revelations. Roads and paths that are linear, circular, one way to go and one way to come back, uphill and downhill, in spiral or wave-like motion, to the infinite and the endless. Sometimes with small steps but also some trots, jumps sometimes and slow rhythms. Internal and external travel. The landscapes of the soul unfold head-on, they become one sometimes with the path to the light of heaven and sometimes with the soil of the earth.”
