Police name 81-year-old in fatal farming incident

An 81-year-old who died in an apparent farming incident in Nicosia on Monday was named by police as Christoforos Georgiou.

The authorities added that the elderly man was a Lythrodontas resident.

The incident occurred in an agricultural area near where he lived at about 9:30am. Police said that the man was driving a tractor but fell off and was seriously injured.

He was taken by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Pera Chorio police station is continuing its investigations.
