A dead body was found at a beach near the Larnaca district village of Kiti on Thursday morning, the police said.

The body was found at around 9.30am, with police officers arriving at the scene shortly afterwards to commence their investigation into the matter.

The police later identified the deceased as a 69-year-old man.

His body was spotted bobbing in the water by the owner of a premises.

Authorities will carry out a post-mortem to determine the precise cause of death.
