The met service issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms on Wednesday.

The warning is in force until 6pm.

During that time, isolated thunderstorms with the possibility of hail are expected to affect mainly inland and northern areas.

The warning came as parts of the island were already experiencing a deluge with thunder rumbling.
