Paphos remains festive with Christmas villages

The Christmas villages have really taken over this year. The festive events are plenty, the décor is rich this Christmas season and Paphos isn’t missing out. Three Christmas villages are currently on around the region offering moments of festive fun and celebrating all that the season has to offer.

In Mouttalos Square, the Municipality of Paphos has set up Santa’s Enchanted Village, which is on until Sunday. The Village hosts choral performances, wooden stalls selling seasonal gifts and handmade creations as well as warm drinks and food. Among activities are visits from Santa and live music as it functions as a place to enjoy the Christmas spirit daily from 5pm to 11pm. On the final day on Sunday, the Village will be open between 10am and 9pm.

Geroskipou has also set up a Christmas village in its square, which opened last week with a grand parade and a concert. Until Friday, the square will offer plenty of festive fun, oeno-gastronomy workshops, music performances and DJ sets. The final day’s events include Christmas melodies between 11am and 3pm, a martial arts demonstration at 3pm, a candle-making workshop in the afternoon and a theatre game for children between 5.30pm and 7pm. Meanwhile, a bingo game will be set up at 5pm and an acoustic performance will wrap up the festive events. Markellos on vocals and Constantinos Georgiou on guitar will entertain visitors between 7pm and 9pm.

The festivities extend to Polis Chrysochous where another Christmas Village has opened its doors in the central square, staying open until Sunday. On Friday, a magic show with balloon creations will entertain children at 3.30pm followed by a Christmas carol performance and a folklore dance show. On Saturday, a children’s play will open the day’s programme at 4pm before live music and traditional dances take over. Concluding the events on Sunday is a Christmas performance with live music in Greek by Angeliki Preza at 4pm.
