Two artistic events coming up in Paphos shortly are inviting the public to attend. Ex Artis Cultural Association organises the first, a public art installation.

On the morning of January 20 on Agoras Street, the installation The Windspinners will open at 11am. This is a collective art installation by Peace2peace/Connective Threads, made from crochet pieces. Highlighting social inclusion, the project aims to showcase art and traditional crafts as the means to stress the importance of acceptance, inclusion, transmission of new knowledge, hope and civic engagement.

The pieces to be exhibited in public were made by a group of individuals, primarily women, of several age groups and social groups throughout a seven-month collaboration period and have been curated by Elena Daniel. The inauguration of the installation will be made by Georgia Doetzer, General Director of Rialto Theatre, and Artistic Director of ECoC Pafos2017 and will also include a music performance by Pafos Music School students.

On the same afternoon, Ex Artis will also organise an Articulation and Public Speaking Techniques seminar at Palia Ilektriki, led by Maria Arapoglou. The 5pm seminar will be interactive and welcome those who wish to work on their effective communication skills through public speaking. Arapoglou, a voice-over artist, narrator and broadcaster will lead participants through a series of exercises to help them in their personal or professional lives with public speaking. The seminar, which will be given in Greek, can be useful to teachers, scientists, journalists, actors, tour guides and more.

Arapoglou will give another workshop the following day focusing more on how to acquire tools to unlock vocal potential. The workshop will be split over six hours, running in two parts – first between 11am and 2pm and then at 3.30pm until 6.30pm. This too will take place in Greek and participants will receive personalised guidance and feedback.
