As we enter possibly the hottest and laziest week of the year, events go on holiday along with the masses. The events agenda tends to slow down but fear not, the island is still buzzing (and sizzling). Village festivals, outdoor cinema nights, art and live music are taking place. Coming to Larnaca’s Medieval Castle is a concert titled With the Glow of the Moon, as it coincides with August’s majestic full moon.
On August 22, the department of antiquities and deputy ministry of culture organises a concert with esteemed Cypriot singer and songwriter Vakia Stavrou, who will present an international repertoire that will touch and transport audiences into the magical world of music. Taking place for free and at 8.30pm, the concert will feature beloved songs from all corners of the world, in French, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, and other languages, as well as her new songs, in a magical evening filled with travel, light, nostalgia and love.
What’s more, Vakia will not be taking the stage solo. The evening’s music will be enriched by the masterful piano skill of Manolis Neophytou, another exceptional Cypriot musician.
