A blood donation event was held in Ayia Napa on Tuesday in memory of the three victims of a tragic car accident in Frenaros.

The Municipality of Ayia Napa organised the 46th voluntary blood donation for the district, dedicated to honouring the memory of Martinos Martis, Irenaios Adamos, and Nikolas Koutsos.

Deputy mayors of Ayia Napa and Frenaros, Antonis Christou and Kostas Michael, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who participated. “This act of blood donation is the best way to honour the memory of the three young men, as a single bottle of blood can save a human life,” they said.

Nikolas Koutsos’ uncle, himself a blood donor, attended the event and expressed his appreciation to the municipality for organising the initiative and to all the volunteers who contributed to the Famagusta Blood Centre, ensuring the donation’s success.

The fatal accident, which occurred in Frenaros, claimed the lives of Martinos Martis and Irenaios Adamos, both 20 years old, and 18-year-old Nikolas Koutsos. Two other passengers, aged 18 and 20, sustained injuries and were hospitalised.

Autopsies revealed that the three victims died from multiple injuries sustained during the accident.
