I live in Melbourne, Australia, and while watching Channel 9 news about a week ago, the finance segment showed the 10 best countries for Australian tourists to visit because of the strong $AUD exchange rate.
In the list were Turkey, and northern Cyprus because the $AUD exchange rate has gone up 18 per cent since last year.
I am no politician or connected to any organisation, but, this, to me, anyway, seems to be a somewhat surreptitious recognition by the Australian media, of the illegal, non-existent, occupied 37 per cent of the Republic of Cyprus by an invader which still has 30,000 or so troops still there.
When I called the Melbourne Community of Cyprus to bring it to their attention, their advice was to just tell the Cyprus High Commission in Canberra, which I have already done, and their advice was that they were going to look into the matter.
