A fire broke out at 7.15pm on Monday in a house in Episkopi village, believed to have been caused by a faulty fireplace chimney.
Two fire engines arrived on site, however the house owner had managed to extinguish the fire himself.
Firefighters took part of the roof apart to examine the damage and to make sure the fire was out.
The fire affected a wall and the chimney.
All residents managed to leave the house safely.
Investigations indicated that the fire may have started due to defective construction.
