With the weekend almost here, it is time to look at what’s on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Family concerts, jazzy brunches and pizza nights are on the horizon!
Taking up most of the cultural agenda this weekend are music performances and concerts, happening in almost every major city. On Friday, Kirill Richter and the Richter Trio will present a fascinating waltz programme titled Towards the Beloved City. The recital will take place in Limassol’s Pattihio Theatre, starting at 8pm and a few tickets are left.
Also in Limassol tomorrow is an afternoon family concert by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. This time, the orchestra will bring to life the beloved musical film The Sound of Music by performing its renowned songs and music as well as narrating the tale. The concert at Rialto Theatre will begin at 6pm whilst on Saturday the orchestra will present the same programme in Nicosia with a dual show at Pallas Theatre (at 4pm and 5.30pm).
On Saturday, a musical brunch is happening at Yalla Collective Space & Café in Nicosia. Accompanying a humble brunch, will be live music by the Workin’ Trio who will perform swing, jazz standards and New Orleans sounds from 2pm to 4pm.

Saturday night in Limassol, Ypsonas in particular, will be all about Broadway musicals and Disney classics. The On Broadway Show at the Ypsonas Municipal Theatre will present music and dances from iconic Broadway musicals and Disney films. On stage will be Cain Grand, Riana Andreanne Athanasiou and Polina Panagiotou performing her choreography with City Stage Centre dancers.
Then, on Sunday, a baroque concert with a single cello will take place at The Warehouse by ITQuarter in Limassol. Musician August Krepak will perform masterpieces by Bach in the venue’s fireplace room.
Also happening this weekend is a pizza and wine evening in downtown Nicosia. Biga Neapolitan Pizza and Tsiakkas Winery organise the Pizza, Vinyls and Vino event this Sunday featuring special pizzas paired with local wines from the winery and a vinyl DJ set by John DJohn. Also happening during the event is a mini pop-up market with Brunching Collection and Le H Apothecary. The event will be on from 4pm to midnight.

In Paphos, something slightly different is happening on Sunday. A Frozen Musical Theatre workshop will take place at Technopolis 20 with Sofia Ioannou teaching how to perform songs from the famous Disney musical. The workshop is addressed to children aged 5 to 8 and will encourage them to use their imagination and develop performance skills through movement and sound.
Two sessions will be on. The first one, at 10am will be in Greek whilst the second one at 3pm will be in English.
