A different kind of event is coming up in Paphos this month, one that brings together book enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. Author Alice Moustier will host a special presentation of the French translation of her book ‘Scheitern als Businessbeschleuniger’ all about boosting businesses and start-ups. January 25’s event will take place at Lozan Music Restaurant, between 5pm and 7pm, featuring a presentation and a concert to follow.
Moustier’s book is now available under the title ‘Booste ta start-up: les bons tuyaux de Christian Dräger’ translating to ‘Boost your startup: Christian Dräger’s top tips’. The book was published in December 2023 by August-Dreesbach-Verlag in Munich and the ebook version is already a bestseller on Amazon in the German business history section.
In it, the author engages in a dialogue with the experienced entrepreneur Dr Christian Dräger. Together, they shed light on how failures can serve as catalysts for business success. The French edition is aimed in particular at founders and entrepreneurs in French-speaking countries who would like to benefit from Dräger’s experience and insights.
The book presentation is of particular significance due to Dräger’s long-standing relationship with France. During the coronavirus pandemic, the Lübeck-based medical and safety technology group Dräger significantly expanded its production capacities for lightweight respiratory protection and built a new factory in France.
This commitment was recognised by the French government: Stefan Dräger, the current Chairman of the Executive Board and son of Dr Christian Dräger, was awarded the French National Order of Merit. The French ambassador Anne-Marie Descôtes honoured Dräger’s contribution to the industrial structure in the field of medical technology in France. Today, Dräger is a global company with around 16,329 employees in 50 countries.
Alice Moustier set up her own business as a communications trainer in the IT and tech sector in 2016. She helps companies to integrate neurodiverse people, whether autistic, with ADHD, highly sensitive or gifted, in order to make better use of their talents. As most problems arise from communication issues, she has specialised in communication and now also gives talks on this topic, such as ‘What we can learn from IT nerds in communication’.
In her book, she talks openly about the mistakes she made when founding her company and, together with Dr Christian Dräger, reflects on what she could have done better to encourage young founders not to give up.
Following the book launch, the Lozan Group will perform a concert of traditional Laiko and Rebetiko songs at 9pm. The book presentation and the subsequent concert promise an inspiring evening for literature and music lovers alike.
