Cyprus, in cooperation with the government of France on Friday delivered a total of 33 tonnes of supplies and logistics items to the Lebanese Armed Forces, it was announced on Friday.

A joint statement from the foreign and defence ministries said that Cyprus and France were acting within the framework of their joint commitment to provide assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces.

“The cargo was delivered to the Lebanese Armed Forces, represented by the Director of Logistics, Brigadier General Tony Abboud, in a short ceremony held this morning at the port of Beirut in the presence of the Ambassadors of Cyprus and France,” the statement said.

“The Republic of Cyprus expresses its thanks to France for its cooperation and provision of the means to transport the material and emphasises once again its commitment to supporting Lebanon and its people with all its capabilities,” the statement concluded.
