Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis is set to travel to the Sultanate of Oman on Saturday, February 1, according to an announcement released on Friday.
This visit comes following an official invitation from Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed al Maawali.
During her stay, Hadjimanolis will engage in bilateral meetings with minister al Maawali and other Omani officials, along with the executives from the state-owned shipping company, Asyad.
These discussions are scheduled to culminate in the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the Cyprus and the Oman concerning maritime transport.
Subsequently, the deputy minister will proceed to Qatar to participate in the ‘Seatrade Maritime Qatar exhibition and conference 2025’, following an invitation from Qatar’s Minister of Transport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani.
While in Qatar, Hadjimanolis is expected to hold further bilateral discussions with her Qatari counterpart and engage in a series of meetings aimed at promoting Cypriot shipping interests in the region.
