Police will implement heightened security measures today, as large crowds are expected to take to the roads, heading to the countryside and coastal areas for Green Monday celebrations.

According to a police statement, officers will maintain a visible presence on highways, intercity roads and main traffic routes to regulate the flow of vehicles and prevent accidents.

Increased patrols will also be deployed at gathering sites to ensure public order and safety.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, adhere to traffic signals and follow the instructions of on-duty officers.

Additional measures are also being taken to prevent crime, particularly burglaries, thefts and robberies, with both foot and vehicle patrols operating in urban and rural areas.

“Our goal is to safeguard public safety, provide timely responses, ensure quality service and offer effective assistance to the public,” the statement concluded
