Market inspections to protect consumer interests are being intensified, the Consumer Protection Service announced on Friday, a day ahead of world consumer day.

It is important that all businesses observe the law and cooperate with the authorities, to secure a fair and competitive environment, which will operate to the benefit of consumers, the service said.

To this end, it added, the service will be intensifying its market inspections to make sure the law is being implemented.

The service urges consumers to use all the means at their disposal, be cautious in their transactions, stay informed and demand their rights.

Consumer rights and a form to file a complaint can be found on the service’s website. Alternatively, consumers can call 1429.
