A 45-year-old man, suspected of stabbing his girlfriend and her 17-year-old son in Limassol, was remanded for five days on Sunday morning, police said.
The minor is being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Limassol.
According to what was heard in court, the incident occurred at dawn. The minor and his mother were allegedly attacked by the 45-year-old, following an argument between the 17-year-old and the suspect.
The teen and his mother were taken to a private hospital with injuries. The teen was found to have a lung and heart injury, with his health condition described as stable while he was treated in the intensive care unit. The mother sustained knife wounds to her abdomen and after receiving first aid was discharged.
The man was arrested by police, members of which also recovered the knife with which the injury is believed to have been inflicted.
In the morning the 45-year-old man was brought before a court, which ordered his detention for a period of five days for offences of causing bodily harm, stabbing, domestic violence and others.
