Shots were fired at a pharmacy on Grivas Digenis Avenue in Limassol and investigations are underway, police confirmed on Friday.

The incident was reported shortly after 8.30am, when employees inside the pharmacy arriving for work noticed damage to the shopfront, believed to have been caused by gunfire, and contacted the authorities.

According to the Limassol CID, from the examinations conducted so far, it appeared that, during the night, unknown persons fired three shots at the front of the pharmacy with a firearm. From the scene, which was cordoned off in the morning as soon as the police were informed, various items were taken for scientific examination.

“Fortunately, no one was hurt,” police confirmed to Cyprus Mail.

“Police are conducting examinations and collecting evidence in order to locate the suspects,” the police added.

Crime scene investigators and ballistics experts attended the scene to examine the bullet impacts and gather forensic material.

As part of the investigation, police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and taking statements from witnesses, including pharmacy staff and nearby shop owners.
