Limassol port operator DP World Limassol recently carried out an initiative aimed at recognising women and supporting members of the local community facing health challenges.
According to an announcement from the company, the initiative formed part of activities marking the annual observance of International Women’s Day which took place on March 8.
As part of the effort, DP World Limassol staff visited women undergoing cancer treatment at the German Oncology Centre.
The visit was described by the company as a gesture of solidarity and encouragement for patients receiving treatment.
In addition to the visit, the company made a financial donation to the ARIS Social Foundation, an organisation supporting patients facing health challenges.
The ARIS Social Foundation was established by oncologist and professor Nikolaos Zamboglou.
The foundation provides social care support for oncology patients and other individuals requiring assistance.
“DP World recognises that behind every professional role there are personal journeys, with many women balancing demanding careers alongside family responsibilities while demonstrating dedication, resilience and leadership that continue to strengthen our workplace,” the company said in a statement.
“The company remains committed to fostering an environment where women feel supported, respected and empowered to grow, recognising that their presence and leadership are essential to the continued progress of the organisation and the wider port community,” it added.
