Marios Georgiou won silver on the horizontal bar at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

The Cypriot champion produced an outstanding performance, finishing second with a score of 14.200, just behind Britain’s Joe Fraser, who won gold with 14.300.

In addition to his podium finish, the 29-year-old, coached by Panayiotis Petrides, received the prestigious Zagreb 2026 Shooting Star Award in recognition of his perseverance and exceptional international career.

Started in 2018, the award aims to put a gymnast with an exceptional story in the spotlight, someone who is an inspiration for the future generation of gymnasts and the general public alike.
