Two teenagers aged 14 and 15 were arrested by Limassol police on Sunday to facilitate investigations into a case of assault and causing bodily harm which happened on New Year’s Eve.
Four other youngsters, three 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, have already been arrested in connection with the same case in previous days.
A 53-year-old and a 23-year-old reported to police that they were attacked by unknown persons in a park near their home at around 11pm on December 31.
The two had planned to move the car belonging to the 23-year-old which was parked close to close to where a fire had broken out when a number of young people allegedly attacked and beat them.
After they managed to escape, the 53-year-old took the 23-year-old to a private hospital, where he was diagnosed with bruises and abrasions.
Evidence points to the involvement of six teens, three 17-year-olds, two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, against whom arrest warrants were issued.
Two of the three 17-year-olds were arrested on January 3, while the next day the third 17-year-old and one 15-year-old were detained.
The 14-year-old and the second 15-year-old were arrested on Sunday afternoon.
All six were charged and released and are expected to appear in court at a later stage.
