Today, it’s fragrant, nutty, Tarta de Santiago.

Originating from Galicia in northwestern Spain during the time of medieval pilgrimages, Tarta de Santiago is traditionally decorated with the St. James cross, and makes a perfect dessert or accompaniment to a café con leche, Spain’s famously milky coffee (it’s fine with straight-up filter coffee, too).
