In this video, popular English food writer and baker Mary Berry walks us through her own recipe for Easter hot cross buns.

Hot cross buns are spiced sweet buns, usually made with fruit, and marked with a cross on the top. They are traditionally eaten on Good Friday in countries such as the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the United States.

The bun marks the end of Lent, with the cross representing the crucifixion of Jesus, and the spices inside signifying the spices used to embalm him at his burial.
