Under the ongoing cultural/anthropological programme Urban Details, the Cultural and Research Foundation Phaneromenis 70 organises a new series of city tours. This coming Thursday, May 27, a new sunset walking tour will take place starting at 6.15pm to explore the urban details and the people of Nicosia, looking at the city in new light.

In close collaboration with archaeologist and tour guide Antigoni Michael, Phaneromenis 70 launches the Urban Details – City’s Walks, by conducting a series of walks and guided tours in alternative, unknown paths of Nicosia that carve the cultural map and form the colourful character of the city. Every tour will consist of walks in different parts of the city in an effort to showcase the urban details that visitors might have missed in their everyday life. Through interesting facts and stories, the tours will explore which urban ecosystem of Nicosia and challenge how its residents and visitors perceive the city.

Under the coordination and supervision of Michael and Phaneromenis 70, every guided tour will be curated by various theoreticians and curators, scientists and scholars that are involved with specific layers of the town and its multisided identity (architecture, art, food, culture, people of the town, variety of ethnicities and cultures). The inaugural tour of the series will take place in Greek.

The objective of these tours is for people to get to know Nicosia through the eyes of others, and to familiarise themselves with those little special spots and elements as well as the people that complete, with their presence and art, the mosaic of the city.
