Ever in the news, most recently for having left earth briefly in his Blue Origin company’s New Shepard rocket, former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is also making headlines as the owner of the Project Y721 super yacht, under construction in the Netherlands.

Bezos commissioned the 127m custom yacht from Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco, with the three-mast ship reputed to be setting him back north of $500m. An accompanying support boat is also, reportedly, under construction.

Boasting over 400 feet of sleek aluminum and steel, the vessel, when delivered, will join an elite new category of boat: the giga-yacht, becoming the world’s largest sailing yacht.

Yet, despite being an ubiquitous possession of the mega-wealthy, Bezos hasn’t previously owned a sailing boat of his own. While this video claims he is also the owner of a $400m vessel known as the ‘Flying Fox’, this claim has been debunked.
