The health ministry on Sunday announced there had been no new deaths from Covid-19 and that 112 people had tested positive for the virus, a positivity rate of 0.29 per cent from 38,554 PCR and rapid tests.
There are 61 people in hospitals of whom 20 are in serious condition. Of those, five are intubated.
The ministry said 62 per cent of people in hospital were unvaccinated.
Of the 38,554 tests on Sunday, 4,360 were PCR and 34,194 rapid tests turning up 112 positives as follows:
- 5 from 203 samples taken through contact tracing
- 6 from 2,875 airport tests
- 11 from 935 samples tested on private initiative.
- 1 from 86 tests done in hospital labs
- 2 from 261 samples under GP referrals
- 33 from 14,906 private rapid tests at labs and pharmacies.
- 54 from 19,288 rapid tests under the ministry’s free programme for eligible groups and vaccinated people
