Booster shots will be made available at the Larnaca walk-in centre on Saturday to people aged 40 and above and not 50 as initially indicated, provided six months have passed from the completion of their vaccination, the health ministry clarified on Wednesday.
The mobile Covid-19 vaccination unit will operate in central Larnaca on Saturday from 8am to 1pm as health officials press on with efforts to boost vaccination coverage. The walk-in will be located at Europe Square, on Larnaca’s Phinikoudes promenade.
It will administer first, second and third jabs.
The first dose will be reserved to people aged 12 and over, the second dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine to those aged 12 and over who have received the first dose at least three weeks prior and booster jabs to those aged 40 and over provided six months have passed since their second dose
All must present identification documents (ID, passport, aliens registration card). Those wishing to receive a second or third jab must also present their vaccination card.
Health Minister Michalis Hajipantelas, the ministry’s permanent secretary Christina Yiannaki and Larnaca mayor Adreas Vyras will also be at the vaccination site.
