The Cyprus football association (CFA) announced the postponement of one more top-flight fixture on Monday because of the number of coronavirus cases in one of the sides.
The CFA said the Limassol derby between Apollonas and AEL, which had been scheduled for Monday, has been postponed after at least four cases have been detected at Apollonas.
This was the third first division game postponement, as infections kept piling up among footballers.
Anorthosis Famagusta versus Limassol’s Aris that was scheduled for Tuesday was postponed last week, following the postponement of the fixture between AEK Larnaca and Olympiacos Nicosia.
Several second division fixtures have also been postponed.
So far, all first division teams have announced between one to eight cases but not all concern footballers and not all concern first squad footballers.
According to the CFA protocol, a fixture can be postponed if a team has four infected first squad players.
