An updated memorandum of understanding will be signed between Cyprus and Estonia on matters of digital governance and cybersecurity during President Nicos Anastasiades’ two-day visit.
The efforts to bolster Cyprus’ digital reforms, such as in the sectors of the civil registry, migration and cybersecurity constitute the main focus of the visit, but the Ukraine crisis, EU-Turkey relations, energy and the green economy will also be discussed.
Government spokesman Marios Pelekanos highlighted the importance of the goal to attain digital transformation, stating that 23 per cent of the Republic’s EU funds from the recovery package is set aside for digital governance – “so that there will be benefits for all citizens and businesses.”
Anastasiades is to meet Estonia’s President Alar Karis, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Tallinn’s mayor.
