Greek Cypriots arrested in north

Two Greek Cypriots will appear in court in the north on Monday after they were caught taking photos in a military zone in Mia Milia, it emerged on Saturday.

The pair were arrested on Thursday afternoon after crossing north and taking photographs and recording a video in a designated military zone.

They are expected to appear in court on Monday. Until then, they will remain detained in the north.

According to the bicommunal technical committee on crime and criminal matters, a licence is required by the Turkish Cypriot authorities to record in the non-government-controlled areas.
