A multidisciplinary performance in English called Setting the Codes for the Heart of a Dream is coming to Nicosia for two nights this month, at ARTos Foundation, after sell-out shows in Limassol.

Setting the Codes for the Heart of a Dream follows an Artificial Intelligence (AI) journey in its quest to understand what dreams were, a concept that is obsolete in the undefined future of its existence.

The AI is immersed in dream theories, from psychoanalytical to philosophical, and in various art forms, such as music and literature, which have immortalised the complexity of the concept of ‘dreams’. As the AI explores this concept extensively, the audience is confronted with its thoughts, reflections and evolution, as it learns from art theorists, scientists and authors like Donna Haraway, Walter Benjamin, Carl Jung and many others. At the same time, questions about human existence and the revolutionary function of dreams arise.

To be staged on September 8 and 9, the performance was created as part of theYard.Residency.22 of Centre of Performing Arts MITOS and is supported by CYENS Thinker Maker Space and the Municipality of Limassol. A team of eight is behind it with Ioulita Toumazi leading the direction, conceptualisation and text of the performance and Panagiotis Mina the music, light, sound and also direction.
