Finance minister heads to Washington

Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides

Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides leaves for the US on Monday, where he will take part in the annual general assemblies of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank as well as Commonwealth Finance Ministers meeting.

The minister will also participate in multilateral meetings where the world economy and issues such as poverty eradication will be examined as well as the effectiveness of international financial assistance, the prospects for economic growth, the financial system and other current issues of economic interest.

The minister and the members of his delegation will also hold bilateral meetings with US administration officials, IMF representatives and officials from international monetary organisations.
