Three men who assaulted officers arrested in Ayia Napa

Three young men, who assaulted Ayia Napa officers in the early morning hours on Saturday, have been arrested.

Police spotted the three, two 23-year-olds and a 19-year-old, at a specific street in the Famagusta town following a tip-off about a fight around 1am.

They were holding empty glass bottles and were walking towards a nightclub, police said.

When officers approached them to ask for their personal information, they attempted to flee on foot.

But officers followed them and caught up with them at a close distance. Then, the young men attacked the members of the police, resulting in their arrest.
