Preparations are underway for Evagoras Papasavvas, a 15-year-old Cypriot race car driver, to compete at the Grand Prix of Road America this weekend at the Road America track, one of the most renowned in the US, located in Wisconsin.
Papasavvas is currently competing in the 2023 USF2000 Championship, an American racing series utilising the US variation of the Formula Ford formula ‘F2000’.
“I am very optimistic about the race at Road America, especially since I know the track well after completing a test there a few weeks ago,” Papasavvas, who is yet to win a race this season said.
“Despite the track’s slippery surface due to recent resurfacing, I managed to prepare for this weekend’s race, during which I expect the track conditions to be much better.
“My goal is to secure my first pole position and achieve my first victory there,” Papasavvas said.
He already came close to victory twice this season, finishing second both in St. Petersburg and Lucas Oil Raceway.
“We came very close to victory this year, and I believe my moment is approaching.
“Both myself and my team, Jay Howard Driver Development, have made significant progress since the beginning of the championship, and now we feel very optimistic about the race at Road America,” said Papasavvas.
