Cyprus to allocate €1 million to boost SME cybersecurity

Cyprus National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre, in conjunction with the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), this week announced the launch of a new support scheme that aims to strengthen cybersecurity in Cypriot Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with a total budget of €1 million.

According to the announcement, the programme aims to bolster security levels and ensure optimal protection of the infrastructure, systems, and information of Cypriot SMEs, thereby strengthening their resilience.

Additionally, the programme seeks to certify SMEs regarding their compliance with European and international standards and criteria, as specified in the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre’s relevant cybersecurity health framework for such businesses.

The announcement noted that funding for individual projects will range from a minimum of €20,000 to a maximum of €60,000.

The programme is co-financed by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union’s “Digital Europe” programme.

Interested parties can submit proposals through the IRIS portal of the RIF, with the deadline set for January 31, 2024.
