Opening its 2024 season, the Pharos Arts Foundation this month welcomes an exciting recital by violinist Irmina Trynkos and pianist Pavel Timofeyevsky. The intimate venue of The Shoe Factory in downtown Nicosia will host musicians and music lovers on January 26 to enjoy an evening of violin and piano sounds.

Traveling to the island for her Cyprus debit is Irmina Trynkos, who following a breakthrough performance has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious venues including the Berliner Philharmonie, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and the Shanghai Concert Hall.

Irmina’s British-Greek-Polish background, leaving home at an early age and her troubled youth have made her an unrivalled communicator and champion of classical music for young and new audiences. She is a strong advocate of reviving unknown violin compositions and loves working with living composers.

For her first-ever performance in Cyprus, the violinist will join forces with the sought-after pianist and composer Timofeyevsky, winner of the prestigious BBC/Guardian Young Composer of the Year Award, who has already performed at major concert venues worldwide. His recent sold-out New York debut at the Merkin Hall of the Kaufman Music Center received standing ovations and brought him invitations to debut in Paris and Venice. Their recital towards the end of January will feature a thrilling programme of virtuosic works by Mozart, Debussy, Grieg, Bartók, and premieres by Nimrod Borenstein and G.N. Gianopoulos.
