The foreign ministry remains in close contact with Greek authorities through its embassy in Athens on Tuesday, and is monitoring developments regarding the severe wildfires raging in northeastern Attica.
So far the ministry has received no requests for assistance, ministry Spokesman Theodoros Gotsis said.
Gotsis reiterated that Cypriots currently in the vicinity of northeastern Attica are advised to carefully follow instructions of the Greek authorities, remain abreast of new information, and call the European emergency number 112 if needed.
