The state has called on all farmers to join the new register of farmers and agricultural holdings, which as of 2025 will constitute the main tool for drafting agricultural policy.
Through the register, the agriculture ministry plans to allocate targeted funds to further develop the island’s agricultural economy, in order to better use funding opportunities and other resources.
Key policies, such as the common agricultural policy, national schemes, water management and the social and economic welfare of rural communities will be directly linked to the register.
The interior ministry has also adopted the register, which will facilitate projects, such as the installation of photovoltaics in agricultural areas.
Other ministries, services and organisations are also expected to adopt the register.
The register is a database of individuals and organisations involved in agriculture.
Those interested in joining can sign up at https://www.gov.cy/en/
