Paphos police arrested two people, aged 19 and 20, as part of an investigation into illegal possession of property and possession of offensive weapons.
According to Paphos police spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou, at around 10.20pm on Sunday, officers spotted a parked vehicle in the tourist area of Kato Paphos.
A 19-year-old man, identified as an asylum seeker, was found inside the vehicle. During the check, a second person, a 20-year-old of the same nationality, approached the scene, and it was determined he was accompanying the 19-year-old.
With the written consent of the driver, the vehicle was searched, and officers found a 70-centimetre bat, a 110-centimetre iron golf club, and a bundle of electrical cables and copper weighing approximately 30kg.
Both people were arrested for illegal possession of property and possession of offensive weapons and remain in custody.
