Limassol municipality delivered packages with essential items and other groceries to approximately 500 beneficiaries on Wednesday.
“This is a time of solidarity and giving towards our fellow human beings,” said Limassol mayor Giannis Armeftis, during the delivery of the Christmas “love packages” to the beneficiaries of the social supermarket.
Approximately 500 packages, which in addition to essential items contained fresh products and Christmas treats, were delivered to an equal number of beneficiaries.
“The social supermarket continues to serve our residents because the needs are great. We are a multicultural city, and the role of local government is to be close to the residents,” he added.
For her part, the chairwoman of the Social Welfare Committee, Athena Spyrou, noted that the effort being made is not just for Christmas or Easter, reminding that monthly, beneficiaries receive essential items from the municipality’s social supermarket.
The social supermarket is modernised annually to meet the modern needs of Limassol’s residents, she said.
