Paphos needs two more reservoirs, one on Diarizos river near Souskiou village and the other on Ezousa river near Episkopi, governor of Paphos’ district organisation Charalambos Pittokopitis said on Friday.

Pittokopitis expressed reserved optimism over the water situation after heavy rainfall over the past few days, with water now flowing into the dams.

He told CNA that there were studies for the two reservoirs and that the Water Development Department should set them as priorities.

Pittokopitis said the two reservoirs would greatly strengthen agriculture and farming.
