The cause of death of 62-year-old Odysseas Kesidis, who died following a road collision on Friday afternoon near Paphos, will be clarified once test results from his autopsy are received, according to Paphos assistant police director of operations, Michalis Nikolaou.

Kesidis died in a crash on the motorway between Limassol and Paphos, near the village of Koloni. Police stated that he lost control of his vehicle, which subsequently veered off the road and into a ditch. The car then continued for another 50 metres before coming to a halt against a guardrail.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and transported him to Paphos general hospital, where he was declared dead.

Authorities confirmed that Kesidis was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Investigators have not ruled out any factors that may have contributed to the fatal collision. The Paphos traffic police branch is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
