Technology has become an integral part of every professional sector, with real estate being no exception, according to Marinos Kineyirou, president of the Cyprus Real Estate Agents Registration Council.

In a piece of analysis released this week, Kineyirou mentioned that “the digital revolution has introduced new opportunities and tools that are transforming the way estate agents operate and serve their clients”.

“The integration of technology into the real estate sector has brought significant benefits, such as process automation, improved communication, and real-time access to information,” Kineyirou said.

He explained that estate agents now have access to advanced property management software, 360-degree virtual tours, drones for aerial photography and video, and social media platforms for property promotion.

“These tools not only save time and money but also enable estate agents to offer more comprehensive and personalised services to their clients,” he stated.

However, he warned that despite the benefits, “the rapid evolution of technology also presents new challenges for real estate professionals”.

“The need for continuous training and adaptation to new technologies, ensuring the protection of personal data, and dealing with increasing competition from online platforms are among the key issues that require careful management,” Kineyirou added.

To address these challenges, the council president emphasised the importance of a proactive approach.

“Estate agents must invest in developing their digital skills,” he stated. “Attending seminars and training programmes, collaborating with technology companies, and establishing a strong online presence are essential steps for success in the digital world.”

In this context, Kineyirou highlighted the council’s proprietary platform ktimatomesites.com. The site was created by the Cyprus Real Estate Agents Registration Council and is offered free of charge to its members.

“This platform is a valuable tool, allowing estate agents to showcase their properties and stay informed about market trends,” he said.

“It is also particularly useful for the public, as it provides a secure space where prospective buyers can search for properties listed exclusively by licensed estate agents,” he added.

In addition, he pointed out that anyone interested in purchasing property can use the platform to verify whether an individual presenting themselves as an estate agent is officially licensed.

Recognising the significance of technology for the real estate sector, Kineyirou affirmed that “the Cyprus Real Estate Agents Registration Council will continue to support estate agents in adopting new technologies”.

“Through educational programmes, informational seminars, and the existence of a digital information hub like ktimatomesites.com, the Council aims to empower estate agents and help them meet the demands of the digital era,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Kineyirou stressed that “technology is a powerful ally for modern estate agents, providing them with new capabilities and tools to serve their clients more effectively”.

“Adapting to new technologies and continuous training are the keys to success in the competitive real estate sector of the 21st century,” he concluded.
