Deputy Minister of Culture Vasiliki Kassianidou on Saturday inaugurated an art exhibition in Berlin as part of the cultural programme of Cyprus’ EU Presidency.

Titled “Beauty in Question: thinking through and beyond form”, the exhibition is hosted at ANDREAS MURKUDIS Space 77 and will run until April 18, according to an official announcement.

In her address, Kassianidou said culture is a key expression of Europe’s shared identity, adding that Cyprus’ EU Presidency offers an opportunity to showcase the island’s cultural heritage and contemporary creativity across Europe.

She noted that Berlin, recognised internationally as a dynamic cultural hub, provides an ideal setting to promote contemporary Cypriot art.

Curated by Savvas Christodoulides and Pavlina Paraskevaidou, the exhibition explores different interpretations of beauty through works by Cypriot artists.

Featuring photography, sculpture, installations, video and sound, the exhibition examines how beauty is perceived and expressed, ranging between attraction and repulsion.

Most participating artists have previously been active in Berlin, contributing to cultural exchange and strengthening ties between Cyprus and the German capital.
