Three collisions caused major delays on the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway near Lympia on Monday morning, forcing the temporary closure of both lanes.

Police said the accidents happened around 8.30am near the Lympia exit, creating heavy congestion and traffic disruption in the area.

Both lanes were closed for a period, with traffic diverted via the old Larnaca-Nicosia road at the Lympia exit.

Police and ambulances were sent to the scene, while officers worked to manage traffic and clear the road.

The motorway reopened to traffic at around 10.45 am, police said.

Drivers were urged to remain cautious when travelling in the area.
