In this video, veterinarian Dr. Alex Avery discusses the subject of slipped discs in dogs – a painful and dangerous condition if ever there were one, and one requiring a speedy response, to avoid our furry companion suffering from paralysis and incontinence.

There are two main treatments of a slipped disc in dogs – conservative rest and pain killers, or surgery. Depending on the symptoms our dog presents, one of these options may have a much better prognosis than the other, although it is important we also consider how quickly we are able to act.
