Despite the present Covid-related travel restrictions, the beautiful natural and urban areas of Cyprus are still accessible to us through the lenses of local creators.

This video by travel group Idyllic Cyprus, packs a surprising amount of beauty into a short, 45km road trip around Limassol’s surrounding area, notably along the nature trails and expanse of the Yermasoyia dam.

Constructed in 1968 above the Amathos River, the estuary of which is located on Limassol coast, the reservoir has a height of 49m, and holds up to 13,500,000 cubic metres of water.

Located only 8km away from the centre of Limassol, the dam is a popular destination thanks to the outdoor recreation it offers, in the form of nature trails, fishing, rowing competitions and other cultural activities.

Nearby ruins of medieval water mills and the ancient church of St. Luke, are also popular visiting sites.
