The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic reached over 100,000 on Wednesday when 769 new cases announced. Two deaths were also reported.
The total number of positive cases now stands at 100,129.
The 769 new cases were detected from 70,678 PCR and rapid tests, a positivity rate of 1.09 per cent.
The deaths were one man, 69, and a woman, 79. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 is now 412: 270 men and 142 women with average age of 77.3 years.
There are 286 in hospital with the virus, 83 of them in serious condition including 40 who are intubated.
The new cases concern 38 people found positive through contact tracing, 156 who got PCR tests privately and 74 who got rapid tests privately.
Another 15 were passengers at the Larnaca and Paphos airports and 26 were samples processed in state hospitals’ labs.
In total 460 cases were detected among the 61,904 samples processed during the rapid testing carried out in all districts on behalf of the health ministry. Twelve of these were detected in the National Guard, 13 in nursing homes in Larnaca and one in Nicosia.
In addition, 106 cases were found in the Nicosia district (0.49 per cent), 135 in Limassol (0.93 per cent), 77 in Larnaca (0.70 per cent), 63 in Paphos (0.88 per cent), and 53 in the Famagusta district (0.90 per cent).
