The Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (Pasykaf) called on people to pick a decoration for the charity’s virtual Christmas tree and make a donation to support those fighting the life-threating disease.
“This Christmas can be made even more beautiful,” Pasykaf wrote on social media as it called on the public to visit their website at pasykaf.org and choose one Christmas decoration to put it up at the virtual tree.
There are three different decorations, a candy cane worth €2, a red and gold Christmas ornament worth €5 and two golden bells with mistletoe corresponding to a €10 donation.
Pasykaf’s website is available in Greek and English but access to the virtual Christmas tree is provided only in the Greek language version of the site.
The charity was founded in 1986 by 21 people with cancer experience and other devoted friends. To this day, the organisation counts thousands of members and supporters, providing professional health and home palliative care services to cancer patients, as well as prevention programmes.
