Live music gigs are here to entertain all sorts of music fans as the year draws to an end. In Nicosia, Sarah’s Jazz Club has four shows coming up in the last week of the year, bringing together a dozen of musicians.

The Alexis Kasinos Quintet will take the jazz bar’s stage on Monday to present two sets of original music. The pieces presented at 8.30pm are written by the leader of the band Alexis Kasinos, and mainly influenced by the modern jazz genre. Accompanying him are Marios Charalambous on tenor saxophone, Andreas Panteli on piano, Cahit Kutrafali on bass and Stelios Xydias on drums. The band has already released one album Right Place, Right Time in 2019 and since then the quintet has performed in festivals and venues all over Cyprus.

On the following evening, vocalist Charlotte Storer returns to Sarah’s for an evening of swinging standards from the Great American Songbook. Along with Ofer Landsberg, Irenaeos Koullouras and Marios Spyrou, the musicians will create a sensational rhymical evening.

A couple of days later and one of the performing musicians of the previous events will lead his own quartet. On December 30 guitarist Ofer Landsberg is joined by his quartet – Dimitris Miaris, Irenaeos Koullouras and Marios Spyrou – for more lively music.

The most exciting event coming to Sarah’s is perhaps the New Year’s Eve Celebration. To bid farewell to 2021, the bar has planned an eventful fiesta with live jazz music, a homecooked dinner buffet and a few prizes to be won. The Facebook event displays the evening’s menu and there is one thing that is certain – that NYE at Sarah’s Jazz Club will be a musical affair!
